Situation

Background Information
THIS IS A REAR OPERATIONS FOCUSED MISSION Botswana has suddenly erupted in a civil war, with the government being attacked by a alliance of national and religious militias seeking to overthrow the government. US forces stationed in the region are being activated to quickly respond after a call for assistance from the Botswanian government. Newly formed Lightning Task Force is tasked to move into alliance controlled territory and cut off one of the main path towards Gaborone, limiting the support to their frontline troops and disrupting their hasty advance to Botswana's capital. The first phase of the plan is to take over a disused airfield near the Dariyah mountain ridge that forms a natural chokepoint. Once the airfield is taken, additional equipment and assets will be airlifted to establish a forward operating base allowing more extensive operations to take place.

Supporting Assets
Airfield Aeden is controlled by friendly forces, providing security and acting as the main supply base for the operation. We have been granted exclusive use of the runway for the duration of the operation.

Enemy Forces
Alliance forces field a mix of equipment o fmostly Soviet and Russian origin. The area of operation is mainly used as a transit area without any substantial bases. Aerial and satellite imagery suggest the presence of designated stop or refueling posts along the corridor. Vehicle also seem to only be on the move during daytime.

Mission

Tasking
LIGHTNING 1 Squad is to take over control of the airfield, OBJ DELTA. Once taken JOLLY Flight is to start transport of equipment as assigned by LIGHTNING H Section. Equipment and vehicles are to be stationed at OBJ DELTA to establish Forward Operating Base GUARDIAN.

End-state
FOB GUARDIAN established and equipment for HITMAN Recon Platoon staged for deployment.

Execution

Commander's Intent
My intent is to land gather our vehicles and find a fast and easy way to enter and take controle of the airfield and prepare a FOB

Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 All elements are ready for brief 10 min past Start EX. This to fine tune the latest intel. Load up into the C-130 call sign JOLLY 5 LIGHTNING 1 Actual will be jump master order of boarding will be LIGHTNING 1-1 ,LIGHTNING 1-2 ,LIGHTNING 1 Target DZ is in Grid figure 190-299 Jumper 5-1 Will wait until FAC clears for the drop of the vehicles PHASE 1 LIGHTNING All callsigns Will collect vehicles where LIGHTNING 1 will take a buggy LIGHTNING 1-1 will take the second buggy LIGHTNING 1-2 will take both trucks Once all vehicles have been secured we move to dismount Tango We set up at OP 1 to scout the approach 2 possible routes Route November which will use the terrain to our advantage and assault from the North Route Sierra which will use the landing strip for easy acces and fire lanes into the airfield Both routes will use the vehicles weapons or shoot from vehicles until we are in cover in the airbase. Securing the airbase quickly and effectively is our priority once secure airlift operation will commence under the guidance of FAC PHASE 2 Commenced FOB building under instructions of LIGHTNING 1 Actual Instructions will be in the field. Be wary of possible enemy patrols roaming around attracted by loud noises of the Aircraft. PHASE 3 Deliver Vehicles at FUP Castle unknown what typ and how many due no input by Hitman 9
