Situation
Background InformationIn the nation of Rayak, a coup d'état happened in the late afternoon on August 12th 2015. Militia backed by the military blocked off routes, captured power-plants and overtrew the local governors. The UK received a call for help from the president of Rayak, asking to secure the route out of Al Tabwah to allow civilians to escape the city before lawlessness takes over. Execution
Commander's IntentThe commanders intent is to seize the FOB in Bargah through infantry assault supported by CAS. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OBJ GOLD: Seize FOB in BARGAH SECONDARY OBJECTIVES OBJ IRON: Find and destroy AA threat in hills WEST of checkpoint BRONZE OBJ BRONZE: Clear checkpoint BRONZE OBJ SILVER: Destroy AA threat in hills WEST of FOB in BRAGAH
Tasks and Sequencing
The mission is set into two active phases: PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS will depart from the FOB via transport Helo, with CAS and Logi helo's following. PHASE 1 After dismounting at DZ1 Primary, SWORD 9 will conduct a search and destroy patrol by waypoints, through OBJ IRON to find and destroy AA assets there. Intel suggests these are static or mobile AAA positions. Eliminating these assets is crucial to ensuring CAS on OBJ OBJ BRONZE. Whilst awaiting neutralisation of AAA, ANGEL should switch to CAS airframes and conduct recon flights over major highways leading into the AO especially the SOUTH due to AA threat from NORTH, and steer clear of NFZ. ANGEL is to neutralise any OPFOR QRF or support assets attempting to enter the AO. Once OBJ IRON is complete, SWORD 9 will convene at RV1-D, conduct any LOGPAK required, and prepare to cross LOD2-A to attack and clear OBJ BRONZE. If LOGPAK has not already been done, it will occur upon completion of OBJ BRONZE. PHASE 2 Similar to OBJ IRON, OBJ SILVER is a search and destroy patrol for AAA assets WEST of OBJ GOLD, with no change to approach. Upon completion of OBJ SILVER, SWORD 9 will convene at RV 2-E and prepare to cross LOD2-F to seize OBJ GOLD. First SWORD 1 will attack S2-A with cover from SWORD 2 at RV2-E. When S2-A is under control, SWORD 1 will establish BOF SOUTH to allow SWORD 2 to move through and assault S2-B. SWORD 1 will assault S2-C, with both teams focussed on moving to and conducting a platoon clearance of, OBJ GOLD. If required, S2-D will be cleared following and LOGPAK/ENDEX occur there. PHASE X If time permits, optional Objectives will include the siezing of the Powerplant and Military Base EAST of OBJ GOLD.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyEmergency resupply and LOGPAKs will be coordinated through SWORD 9 and delivered by AIR/GROUND by GROUNDHOG 4 .
Medical
- Medical support will be conducted in field (PAK in Field) The primary means of MEDEVAC is by AIR/GROUND conducted by SWORD 7 CALLSIGN and requested via SWORD 7 .
Rules of Engagement
CPERS should be turned over to SWORD 9 for evacuation to the rear.

CAS provided by ANGEL and authorised via SWORD 8 , in accordance with SOP. Locked Aircrew roles will be MA'd at H -1 based on MA policy, so long as ORBAT is full enough to FL discretion.
