Situation

Background Information
After making significant assaults deep into enemy territory, Charlie platoon finally have their primary mission objective in sight: a massive ex-soviet airbase - now overrun with Taliban insurgents and armor invading from northern Pakistan... Available Assets:

Mission

Execution

Commander's Intent
Drive out Taliban forces from the southeast sector. Seize the airfield. Destroy hostile assets.

Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0 ALL CALLSIGNS prepare for mounted movement to PL 1. Caution: canalising ground creates natural ambush points on the route.

OBJ ANNA

Purpose: Establish in the AO. Threat: High Considerations: Hit hard and fast. Being pushed back here jeopardises the mission. INDIA suppresses TRP B02 when CHARLIE crosses PL 1. CHARLIE 1 breaks off left to move to contact suspected enemy camps in the woods. CHARLIE 2 and 3 seize the roadblock and compounds. CHARLIE 2 should focus on the left flank and stand by to reinforce CHARLIE 1 in case of unexpected high contact during extension. CHARLIE 1 advances to RP 1B, keeping concealed from OBJ BERTOLD as long as possible. CHARLIE 2 & 3 remount to investigate the compound marked UNKNOWN. Consider hostile. Sandbags, possible weapon mounts recce'd.

OBJ BERTOLD

Purpose: Seize the vehicle depot and surrounding compounds. Threat: High hostile presence Considerations: Objective area is wide open, overextension likely. Watch for crossfire around RP 1C. India suppresses TRP C01 with HE and smoke. On rounds-complete: CHARLIE 1 crosses PL2 headed NW to break in. CHARLIE 2 splits from CHARLIE 3 after crossing the phase line headed N, ref. TRP C03. CHARLIE 3 provides base of fire until CHARLIE 2 establishes in the compounds. Then pivot right towards RP 2C, seizing the roadblock.

OBJ CARLA

Purpose: Destroy hostile indirect fire capabilities. Threat: High Considerations: The surrounding terrain provides ambush opportunities and concealed fire. CHARLIE 2 advances on the left flank. CHARLIE 3 advances on the right.

OBJ DORIAN

Purpose: Seize or destroy hostile ammunitions. Threat: Unknown Considerations: Civilian presence cannot be ruled out. Collaborators cannot be ruled out.

OBJ EMMA

Purpose: Seize the airfield. Threat: Very high. Considerations: The objective is in open ground with few covered approaches. The north-facing section is recce'd to be the most defended. Hit the southwest flank hard and fast. CHARLIE 1 hits AP 1, CHARLIE hits AP 2 and CHARLIE 3 hits AP 3 to seize sectors 1, 2 & 3 respectively. CHARLIE 1 must dig in to hold their sector from counterattack. CHARLIE 2 & 3 pivot as soon as possible to drive the attack north on the right flank. CHARLIE 1 supports until established. All squads advance in a bounding fashion. No squad ever moves without covering fire.
