Commander's IntentThe purpose of this mission is to extend communication capabilities on the island by establishing a series of repeaters in a contested AO. To maintain OPSEC with a time-sensitive warlord response, High command will not disclose the assigned locations until briefing. Speed will be essential to preventing major OPFOR movement and a defensive posture must be established at each relay location to deny maneuver.
Tasks and Sequencing
PHASE 0: Preparation - ALL CALLSIGNS load attached humvees with supplies. - ALL CALLSIGNS ensure adequate supplies on person to sustain operations for the duration of a full retreat in the event of vehicle loss. -- Any additional support required for adequate load bearing is to be communicated to BAKER 1. - Team Leaders will be provided backpacks to carry STANAG for their respective teams. - BAKER 1 will carry additional Medical Resupply and M240B ammunition. - BAKER 1-1's ammo bearer should carry primarily AT resupply. - BAKER 1-3's ammo bearer will be dedicated solely to M240B ammunition. - ALL CALLSIGNS assemble for brief, learn assigned repeater locations, and assemble movement plan. PHASE 1, 2 & 3: Repeater Placement - ALL CALLSIGNS mounts and drives to assigned repeater location via movement plan assembled in phase 0. - BAKER 1-3 digs in on the primary avenue of approach, denying all OPFOR maneuver. -- SUAV Operator attaches to BAKER 1-3 to recon for OPFOR movement. - BAKER 1-1 & BAKER 1-2 move through objective with speed, eliminating any resistance. -- Upon objective clear, BAKER 1-1 & BAKER 1-2 overwatch secondary and tertiary avenues of approach. - BAKER 1 assembles repeater structure, ALL CALLSIGNS mount and move to the next objective. Actions On Massive OPFOR Movement 1) SUAV Operator identifies and communicates large quantities of warlord movement. 2) BAKER 1-3 positions machine gun, establishes, and maintains fire superiority at all costs. 3) BAKER 1-1 & BAKER 1-2 initiate break contact via humvee. Vehicle Loss In the event of a vehicle loss under overwhelming warlord response, BAKER 1 radios for BLUFOR QRF, ALL CALLSIGNS initiate break contact towards QRF on foot 1) ALL CALLSIGNS immediately prioritize fire superiority. 2) BAKER 1-1 & BAKER 1-2 initiate break contact manuevers, using successive bounding, both as the leading element together. 3) BAKER 1-3 maintains fire superiority, bounding successively with 1-1 & 1-2 as the trailing element. Casualties during break contact Squad medic organizes a rolling CCP, relying on manpower of combined 1-1 & 1-2 as the leading bounding element to assist with movement.
Administration/Logistics
ResupplyResupply will be available initially with the attached humvees. Should enemy attack disable a vehicle, an extended break contact must be able to be sustained with supplies on person. - BAKER 1 will carry additional Medical Resupply and M240B ammunition. - BAKER 1-1's ammo bearer should carry primarily AT resupply. - BAKER 1-3's ammo bearer will be dedicated solely to M240B ammunition. - Team Leaders will be provided backpacks to carry STANAG for their respective teams.
